Padma Lkshmi former Mrs. Salman Rushdie
Padma Parvati Lakshmi is an Indian-American cookbook author, actress, celebrity and former Super Model. She has described herself as the first well-known model from India. She is the host of the reality television program Top Chef from season two. She is also an ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women.
In New York, on April 17, 2004 Lakshmi married the novelist Salman Rushdie. On July 2, 2007 the they asked for divorce, shortly after her husband was granted a knighthood.
